After a couple of years with no services at the Roanoke Rescue Mission due to covid restrictions and other factors, the Mission finally opened the doors for groups to come and present the evening service with the residents.
In November Resurrection Riders and Radford Redeemed teamed up to share the Good News at the Mission. We were Blessed with 20 volunteers that went in prepared for spiritual battle! Many from the worship team came to encourage the residents with Hymns, and after a life-changing message was given, most everyone engaged in prayer with individual residents that came forward, or with those that remained in their seats.
It was a blessing to see so many prayer warriors moved by His Spirit towards those needing some HOPE only found in Jesus Christ.
After speaking with several volunteers, it was decided that we will commit to doing the evening service once every other month starting January 16th, 2023 at 6:30 PM. This is very exciting as we have a series of defined opportunities to turn the World upside down for Christ.
In January we will have music worship, then 3 people sharing 5-minute testimonies followed by a brief message and a call to prayer. This is always an excellent opportunity to go into all the world and preach the gospel and stretch your faith as you engage in worship, share a testimony or message, and follow thru with prayer with hurting folks needing a change in their lives.
Everyone is welcome to volunteer. We need both men and women volunteers as the service is open to all residents male and female. We will have a sign-up sheet in the church foyer after the New year. This will not only change the lives of those you help, but it will generally change your life as well, so put on the FULL armor of God and come on out.
