The Power Of Praying Men

A look at Radford's Annual Men's Prayer Weekend by Pastor John Yera.

The annual Men's Prayer Weekend at Radford Baptist Church.

"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you" John 14:16-17 NIV

The men of RB came together for a prayer retreat January 18-19 and what a powerful weekend of prayer it was. To see about 40 men, young and old, in fellowship, encouraging one another in prayer and in the Word was something I will not soon forget.

The men were physically nourished with a good meal but most importantly our souls were refreshed and renewed as we communed with God and His Word. We prayed with each other, for one another and for what the Lord will have us as fathers, husbands and Christian men accomplish in the year 2019 and beyond. I am sure everyone young and old came away knowing God is going to do great things through us, through our families, and through RB. “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in My name. I will do it.” (John 14:12-14)

Joining these godly men in prayer, confession, and in the Word, left me with a sense of fulfillment and excitement that we here at Radford Baptist Church will bear much fruit in 2019 locally and globally for His Kingdom here in earth.

It should also be of great encouragement to us all knowing that as we fall down to our knees; our answered prayers will not only bear much fruit but most importantly the Father may be glorified in the Son. “Ask, and it Will be given.” (Matt. 7:7)
